Your first contact with a hiring manager is your covering letter. So you’ll want to make it strong, specific, and solid. Enjoy the process. Think of the potential employer as a friend across from you over a cup of coffee. Let him or her know who you are, what you have done, what you can do and how you’ll be a real asset to the company. Put all this info in your cover letter. Feel free to mention some detail that will set you apart. Are you good at negotiations, can you train people, do you like organizing meetings? Hiring managers will take a second look at cover letters that include special material like this.
